"Day by Day" a hymn by Lina Sandell Berg

1.  Day by day and with each passing moment
     Strength I find to meet my trials here;
     Trusting in Father's wise bestowment,,
     I've no cause for worry or for fear.
     He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
     Given unto each day what He deems best--
     Lovingly, it's part of pain & pleasure,
     Mingling toil with peace and rest

2. Every day the Lord Himself is near me
     With special mercy for each hour;
     All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
     He whose name is Counsellor and Power.
     The protection of His child and treasure
     Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
     'As your days, your strength shall be in measure.'
     This the pledge to me He made.

3.  Help me then in every tribulation
     So to trust your promises, O Lord,
     That I lose not Faith's sweet consolation
     Offered me within Your holy Word.
     Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting
     E'er to take as from a father's hand.
     One by one, the days, the moments fleeting.
     'Till I reach the promised land.

Habakkuk 3: 18 & 19

"I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
He enables me to go on the heights."

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters by Portia Nelson

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
  There is a deep hole in the sidewalk .
I fall in,
I am lost…I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole  in the sidewalk .
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in this same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I see it there.
I still fall in…it's a habit…but,
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.

It’s my fault
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down another street.
